uPerform Express Batch Publishing Function Fails to Publish all Required uPerform Express Generated Documents or Courses

Publishing Fails When Publishing to a Network Location

If publishing to a network location, please change the outbox to a local drive and republish.

If publishing succeeds, please copy created content from local machine to the desired network location.

If publishing all content still fails, please provide the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the batch publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations. 

  2. Are you able to publish a single document via File > Publish? 

  3. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  4. Republish. 

  5. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File.  The file will be located on your desktop. 


If publishing fails for specific output types, please try the troubleshooting steps below.


Publishing Fails when Producing PDF or Word Documents

Attempt to publish a single document in the desired formats. If publishing to PDF and Word are failing, please install MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and MS Visual J# 2.0 Redistributable by performing the following steps:

  1. Download MS Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable from http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en
  2. Download MS Visual J# 2.0 Redistributable from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f72c74b3-ed0e-4af8-ae63-2f0e42501be1&DisplayLang=en
  3. Follow the prompts to install each of the above programs.

  4. Republish the PDF and Word documents.


Publishing Fails when Producing HTML Documents

Attempt to publish a single document in html formats. If that fails please send the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations. 

  2. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  3. Republish the one document. 

  4. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File. The file will be located on your desktop.


Publishing Fails when Producing Simulation Documents

Attempt to publish a single simulation document. If that fails:

  1. Check steps in failed documents for:

    • Notes with more the average size entries

    • Steps with long sound files or flash files

    • Entry fields with long paths in them 

    • Missing screen images on a step 

    • Missing cursor images on a step 

  2. Remove offending entry from above list and republish document. 


If publishing still fails please provide the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations. 

  2. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  3. Republish. 

  4. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File. The file will be located on your desktop.


Publishing Fails when Producing Course Documents

Attempt to publish a single course. If that fails, check for bad Flash file(s). If found, remove bad file(s) and republish.

If publishing still fails please provide the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations. 

  2. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  3. Republish. 

  4. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File. The file will be located on your desktop.


Publishing Fails when Producing Glossary

Attempt to publish the glossary stand-alone. If that fails:

  • Check for non-standard characters in the terms and/or definitions. If found, remove offending characters and republish. 

  • Check that any imports were done using the UTF-8 standard format. If not, re-import using correct format and republish. 


If publishing still fails please provide the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations. 

  2. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  3. Republish. 

  4. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File. The file will be located on your desktop.

Publishing Fails when Producing the Website

Attempt to publish the website stand-alone. Check links on site for correctness.

If publishing still fails please provide the following information to ANCILE Product Support:

  1. Forward a screenshot of the publishing window displaying the inbox and outbox locations.
     
  2. Within Composer, go to Tools > Options > General tab and change the log and publishing levels to Debug or High. 

  3. Republish. 

  4. Generate and provide the sysinfo file.

    In uPerform 4.5 and later - select HELP > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. The file will be located on your desktop.

    In uPerform 4.4 and earlier - select HELP > ABOUT then click Generate File. The file will be located on your desktop.
