Cannot launch tutorial links from published simulation in uPerform

Symptoms

  • End Users cannot launch tutorial links in a published simulation from the Server.
  • Authors cannot launch the tutorial links from a locally published simulation.

Environment

  • Product: ANCILE uPerform Server
  • Version: 5.20 to 5.20.3

Cause

Identified as a defect in uPerform 5.20.

Resolution

Upgrade to 5.20.4 or newer.

Workaround

Steps to implement in uPerform Author machine:
  1. Download and extract the mootools-core-1.3.1-full-compat-yc.js file.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ANCILE uPerform\Client\data\new_simulation\Data\assets\js\lib.
  3. Place the mootools-core-1.3.1-full-compat-yc.js file in the directory.
    Note:
    - If a file with the same name already exists, rename it mootools-core-1.3.1-full-compat-yc.bak then paste the new file mootools-core-1.3.1-full-compat-yc.js into this directory.
    - If the files mootools-core-1.5.0-full-compat and mootools-more-1.3.1.1 are present, there is no need to rename those, just paste the new file mootools-core-1.3.1-full-compat-yc.js into this directory.
  4. Restart the uPerform Client application.
  5. Open the affected document.
  6. Republish the Simulation output.
  7. Clear IE browser cache (CTRL+F5) then restart IE.
  8. Launch the simulation and ensure to click on the Active X prompt (yellow bar) in IE, then click Allow Blocked Content.
  9. In the Security Warning prompt, click Yes.
  10. Click on the Tutorial link.
  11. Click on the Active X prompt (yellow bar) in IE, then click Allow Blocked Content.

Hi.  I have V5.12.1 and hyperlinks in Notes do not work inside of simulations.  Will this modified javascript fix it ?

    Hi Shaun,

I don't think it's the same issue because this article is in reference to the links on the index.htm launch page. You can test the fix by backing up the existing file on your local drive, copying the attached file to the same location, and republishing the simulation.

We have seen a different issue in later versions with links in note text which you can find here: https://support.ancile.com/hc/en-us/articles/207481146. It's possible this was present in 5.12 as well.

If those don't help you should probably submit a ticket.

    Thanks,

    Chandra
