Slide numbers appear as <#> when publishing a Powerpoint presentation as a managed document on the uPerform website

Symptoms

When inserting a text box and putting the slide number format <#>, the slide numbers appear as <#> when publishing a Powerpoint presentation as a managed document on the uPerform website instead of the slide number.

Environment

  • Product: ANCILE uPerform
  • Versions: 5.12 and Later

Cause

This issue is caused by a defect.

Workaround

There are couple workarounds for this issue:
Save the Powerpoint presentation as a PDF, then publish.
  1. Save the PPT as a PDF
  2. Add and publish the PDF as a managed document
Use the default page number box, instead of inserting a text box:
  1. Open the Powerpoint presentation
  2. Click the View tab
  3. Click 'Slide Master'
  4. Click the Insert tab
  5. Click Header & Footer
  6. Click the Page Number checkbox to check it
  7. Click 'Apply to All'

Additional Information

The page number box can moved, as desired, from the bottom right of the powerpoint presentation.
