Change Your uPerform Product Key

If you’ve set up your uPerform server using a Product Key with an expiration date, then it will be necessary to update your environment with a new Product Key to ensure continued use. Another example of when a Product Key may change is when your organization name has changed, so ANCILE has provided a new product key.

Prerequisites

  • You must have a valid uPerform Product key

Tips

  • Problems with the host name or the IP address can cause the Configuration Wizard to fail

Change the URL of Your uPerform website

Organizations may wish to update the URL for their uPerform website to something friendlier so their users can better recall the address of the website, for example: http://my.companyname.com.  In the case of a merger or acquisition, the URL for the site may need to change to reflect the new organization name.

Prerequisites

  • The DNS is configured on the DNS server

Tips

  • As a result of changing the URL for your website, any links to the original web address will no longer be valid.
  • We recommend that you backup your uPerform web application server prior to performing the steps demonstrated in this procedure
  • Problems with the hostname or the IP address can cause the Configuration Wizard to fail

Configure Your uPerform Website to Use NTLM Authentication

ANCILE uPerform support Single Sign On through several different authentication types, including NTLM. Single Sign On (SSO) permits a user to leverage one set of credentials to easily access multiple applications. Enabling Single Sign On (SSO) for a website can have many benefits, which include:

  • Reduce IT costs due to lower number of IT help desk calls about passwords.

Prerequisites

  • Work with your IT organization to ensure your infrastructure is ready for a website to use Single Sign On using NTLM.
  • There must be at least one user, with uPerform System Administrator privileges, that matches an account on the domain. This user must have the same username as the one on the Server.
  • In IIS, enable Anonymous Authentication and Windows Authentication on the root of the Collaboration website.  (Please refer to the ANCILE uPerform Administration Manual, section “Implement SSO Using NTLM Authentication” for detailed steps for your version of uPerform)
  • In IIS, set the authentication method for the various directories in the Collaboration website. (Please refer to the ANCILE uPerform Administration Manual, section “Implement SSO Using NTLM Authentication” for detailed steps for your version of uPerform)
